THE CHAPTER ASSIGNMENTS ARE MEANT TO PREPARE YOU FOR YOUR OWN PROJECTS. WHILE DOING THEM PLEASE THINK ABOUT HOW THE EXERSICES COULD BE UTILIZED IN YOUR OWN PROJECT. DO NOT SIMPLY GO THROUGH THE MOTIONS!
The book suggests that the required files for the chapter assignments are on the C: drive. However, you have to load these files onto your computer. Here
Remember to save your tutorials to your work to your H: drive.
The bookmarks function has its own menu category in the toolbar in the version of ArcGIS that is in the computer lab.
A number of chapters require you to alter files. For example, Chapter 12 adds data to files using the Field Calculator, and Chapters 15 and 16 use Editor to change or add features.
These exercises cannot be done from the P: drive, because this is a read-only public folder. Move the entire chapter folder, including all files, into your H: drive.
